per personRecently opened up to western tourists, the Forgotten Kingdom, “Mustang Valley” in the higher region of Nepal is the most stunning valley with spectacular mountain views and direct interaction with the ethnic cultural groups of remote Nepal. Ancient Tibetan Buddhist monasteries are still in practice here.
The tour starts from Kathmandu and takes you to the beautiful Tibetan plateau of Upper Mustang close to the Tibet border. Ride the recently built dirt roads following the Kali Gandaki River George and visit the villages of lower Mustang on the Nepal-Tibet border.

Day 1 - Arrive Kathmandu (1370 m) / Welcome Dinner
A Motorcycle Expeditions representative will collect you from the airport and transfer you to the hotel in a private deluxe van. Dinner will be enjoyed at a traditional Nepali restaurant. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 2 - Kathmandu to Pokhara (750m, 210km, 6hrs)
After breakfast, we’ll be driven to the outskirts of Kathmandu to meet our motorcycles. From here we experience the Himalayan Mountains, valleys and rivers all the way to Pokhara on two wheels. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 3 – Pokhara to Kalopani (2400m, 130km, 5hrs)
Here we start riding off road routes through farmlands and always amidst the mountains of course. We’ll also stop off at a Nepali suspension bridge. A great variety of landscapes will take us to Kalopani. Dinner and overnight stay at a guest house.
Day 4 – Kalopani to Ghami via Kagbeni (3520m, 125km, 5-6hrs)
It’s a long ride to Ghami along the Kali Gandai river. There will be a river crossing on the way. Kagbeni is the last village with internet for a few days, so time for a last “fix”! A visit to Muktinath is optional. Dinner and overnight stay at a guest house.
Day 5 – Ghami to Lo Manthang (3700m, 30km, 2hrs) Kora La (pass at 4460m)
It’s a short ride today. We’ll visit the King's winter palace and some ancient monasteries. Dinner and overnight stay at a guest house.
Day 6 – Lo Manthang to Samar (3475m, 65km, 5hrs) Kora La (pass at 4460m)
After breakfast we ride back to Samar, a medieval village with closely packed mud brick houses, dark alleys and imposing chortens. Once checked in at Samar, the rest of the evening is free to relax and explore the Village. Dinner and overnight stay at a guest house.
* Lodges in Samar only have standard rooms with shared bathrooms. En-suite is not available.
Day 7 – Samar to Tatopani via Kalopani (1200m/96km/6.5hrs)
Our first stop is at Kagbeni for some paperwork before taking the road to the stone lined Thakali village of Marpha, famous for apple orchards and products. The local Nyingma monastery also offers great views of the village from above. After lunch, we head on to Tatopani. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 8 – Tatopani to Pokhara (1022m, 196km, 5-6hrs)
After a quick stop in Beni, we set out following the trail along the river and then after about an hour meet the main highway at Maldhunga and continue on tarmac to Pokhara. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore around the Lakeside Bazaar. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 9 - Fly to Kathmandu (1370m, 25min)
Before we take our evening flight to Kathmandu, we have the whole day to relax or partake in other activities around Pokhara. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10 – Final Departure (1370m)
We check out at 12 pm, you will be transferred to the international airport for your on-wards journey.
